Containing a huge 50 pages and in full colour, this third book in the series begins with an in-depth explanation of how sharps work on the violin – and later, flats. Violin students are then introduced to new finger positions, keys, scales and arpeggios as well as 3rd position. As in previous books, the characters Presto, Bravo and Poco add an element of humour as well as helping to explain things and everything is introduced using a wide variety of music and exercises. Each lesson is clearly laid out, with note charts, illustrations and quizzes at the top of the page, making it easy for the student to follow at home or in lessons and motivating them to explore new challenges on their own. The tutor is ideal for all ages, giving plenty of challenges as well as encouragement all of the way!

To support practice and build confidence, the book also comes with zip files and online access to the fabulous play-along audio tracks. These now include all of the scales, arpeggios and exercises as well as the pieces in the books, making them more enjoyable and easier to master. As well as the basics of music – pitch, rhythm etc – these backing tracks encourage students to develop their musicality and expressiveness — and they make practice a much more enjoyable experience too!
