Adapted from Hey Presto! for Violin, Book 2 (Silver), this lively and energetic romp is driven by syncopated rhythms throughout, supported by an independent rhythmic double bass line. A contrasting middle section introduces playful call-and-response writing, while left-hand pizzicato and harmonics add extra colour and interest. Tremendous fun to play and excellent for developing ensemble skills — and best of all, it sounds more challenging than it really is.
